Notice of New Sewer Service Rates:
At a public hearing held on June 15, 2022, the Cupertino Sanitary District Board approved Ordinance No. 129, An Ordinance of the Cupertino Sanitary District Amending Sections 7301, 7302 and 7303 of Chapter VII of the Cupertino Sanitary District Operations Code Relating to Sewer Service Charges. These charges are paid by residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial users of the sanitary sewer system. At the hearing, staff proposed a residential rate increase not to exceed 5% for FY 2022-2023. Non-residential customer rates will increase proportionately.
The new rates take effect on July 1, 2022.

We know you’re working hard to keep yourselves healthy during COVID19 Shelter-in-Place. Help us keep our sewers healthy as well. Remember to never flush wipes, paper towels, or tissues because they clog our pump stations and the pipes! The District has 17 pump stations and it has become a major maintenance issue, resulting in significant cost increases (see photo to the right).
With the shortage of toilet paper, wipes are being used. Just remember: Save your pipes! No matter what the label says, don’t flush them – instead trash them.
